Missions Network
The Vital Importance of Missions Network
The Network connects church teams to serve both globally and locally
according to Acts 1:8. Every year, hundreds of area church members
travel around the world for life changing mission trips. What if that
impact could be multiplied? What if even more Christians could minister
among hurting people and experience the love of Jesus among the poor?
Our area has an urgent need! There are 100,000 children in elementary
schools throughout Fresno County—62,000 of them live in poverty.
Churches have great opportunities to make a difference for these families.
The Network encourages churches to build mission teams that are sustainable.
Missions Network also helps mission leaders connect their work with
the core purpose of their church and their pastor. Therefore, missions
become central to the life of the church, not just a peripheral function.
The Network encourages frontline mission leaders through monthly gatherings
of prayer, training, and networking.
The Network multiplies resources by connecting practitioners to one
another. For example, Valley Christian Center held the first Fresno
WOW JAM and then the next month trained other churches to do this
neighborhood impact event. Eight other churches then held a neighborhood
WOW JAM during the following year.
Missions Network is able to follow movements of the Spirit, without
adding an institutional layer that manages, controls, and slows that
response.
